Kumul Minerals Holdings Limited as the majority shareholder of Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) is excited to share OTML’s histories, highlights and achievements. OTML is a 100% nationally owned copper mining company that is located in the Western Province of Papua New Guinea and Kumul Minerals Holding Limited owns 67% share interests.

OTML is operating for 38 years now and has delivered with benchmark performance and distinct records. Ninety-eight percent of the total work force are local Papua New Guineans. The concerns and issues of the impacted communities are given equal regards through social responsibility mechanisms and a robust environment monitoring system and waste management programs.   Its main business emphasis lies on labor value and safety, operations efficiency, profit maximisation and environment management.

The Chairman & CEO speech in the 2021 annual review indicates the possibility of an extension of the mine life from 2029 to 2032 and OTML is looking at making complete transition from current lower grade ore to high grade high sources. Although going through touch challenges such as losing of a processing facility in 2020, combating with Covid-19 pandemic and reduction in the general labor shortage, the Board and Management are optimistic for the years ahead with its mantra, “One Team, Wan Pasin”. Without a doubt Kumul Minerals is looking forward for another turn of eventful business with OTML for a greater benefit of the people of Papua New Guinea.
